I am a reader. I blame my mother for this. She made certain there were books in our house. Interesting books. She ordered books from a monthly book club and Scholastic Books. She bought books at the annual sale at school and borrowed them from the local library. She took us to the library often, probably to give us three wild hooligans something to do on rainy days besides ask her what we could do. She bought books on record and made sure we had our own record players. I love reading, and it’s all her fault. Thanks, mom. You’re the best.
I am a wife and mom. I’m married to a preacher who loves God’s Word and is passionate about teaching others what God says. My four kids are mostly grown now – just one left in Highschool. We have a house full of books here as well, from Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man series to C. S. Lewis and Tolkien to commentaries and books on systems of theology. Books can change the world.
I learn best when I teach what I’m learning. It cements it in my brain and makes it stick longer. As I age, it seems I need that stickiness more and more. Here you will find my thoughts on what I’m reading in the Bible. Here you will find mistakes, lessons learned, memories, the random thoughts of a dot-connector. Here you will find a woman who believes God really is all she needs, but is still learning to live like she believes it.
